How to make a GIF from several photos

You want to merge several photos into one image that animates — what most people call “making a GIF”. Good news: it is very simple, and depending on your use case there is even something better than the GIF format.

The simplest method (no software, no account)

1. Open photo-animee.fr in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera;
2. Drag and drop your photos (add order = play order, changeable);
3. Pick a format (square, landscape, portrait) and framing;
4. The animated image generates itself — download it.

What if I really need a .gif file?

Some uses still require the .gif extension (old forums, some corporate messengers…). In that case, online converters like ezgif assemble your photos into a GIF — expect more technical settings (frame delay, dimensions, loop) and a heavier file for lower quality. For modern web use — listings, sites, recent messengers — animated WebP does better, more simply.
